When the storm gathers above Lumiose and light hums in the air, a certain electric dragon waits. Ampharos, majestic and radiant, can transcend its form through one shining stone. The Ampharosite. This elusive Mega Stone can turn a loyal partner into a beacon of unstoppable energy. But first, you have to find it.

Where to Find Ampharosite in Pokémon Legends Z-A

The only way to obtain the Ampharosite in the game is to defeat the Rogue Mega Ampharos during Main Mission 23: A Rogue Mega Ampharos.

Rogue Mega Pokémon are powerful wild creatures that have tapped into Mega Evolution without a trainer. They are far stronger than their regular counterparts and can easily overwhelm an unprepared team. Thankfully, during this mission, you won’t face it alone. A Team MZ ally joins the battle, making the encounter more manageable.

Once the Rogue Mega Ampharos is defeated, the Ampharosite will be rewarded to you automatically. It will be stored safely in your inventory under the Mega Stones tab.

Ampharosite is more than a trinket. It is the key that unlocks Mega Ampharos’s true power, boosting its base stats and granting it the Mold Breaker ability in battle. Here’s how to equip it to your Ampharos:

  1. Open your Main Menu.
  2. Head to your Boxes.
  3. Select your Ampharos.
  4. Choose Give an Item to Hold.
  5. Navigate to the Mega Stones section.
  6. Select Ampharosite and give it to your Pokémon.

When Ampharos enters a battle, you’ll see the Mega Evolution prompt once your Mega Power bar fills. Press the Right Analog Stick to trigger the transformation and watch Ampharos evolve into its luminous Mega form.

Mega Ampharos isn’t just a stat boost. Its new typing adds a Dragon-type to its Electric core, opening up powerful strategic combinations. Its boosted Special Attack allows it to blast through opponents with ease, while Mold Breaker ignores pesky abilities that might have otherwise stopped it.

This makes it a perfect anchor for balanced or offensive teams, especially in encounters where Electric coverage alone isn’t enough.

Quick Tips for the Battle

  • Bring Ground or Fairy counters to deal with its Dragon typing.
  • Status effects like Paralysis or Sleep can turn the tide in your favor.
  • Coordinate with your Team MZ ally to time attacks and shields.
  • Equip your team with healing items before heading into Mission 23.

Final Spark

The Ampharosite isn’t just another collectible. It’s a symbol of growth, of unlocking hidden potential. When your Ampharos takes the battlefield, glowing brighter than the lights of Lumiose, you’ll know the journey to claim that stone was worth it.Release: October 16, 2025
