The haunting charm of 99 Nights in the Forest deepens with its latest Halloween update, introducing potion making — a limited-time mechanic that feels equal parts mystery and mischief. With a cauldron glowing beside your campfire, the forest now invites players to stir strange brews and uncover unpredictable effects hidden within. This guide will help you understand potion crafting, ingredients, and everything the new update brings to the table.

Where to Craft Potions in 99 Nights in the Forest

You’ll find the Cauldron beside your Crafting Bench, close to the campfire in your base area. Interacting with it begins the brewing process. The Cauldron occasionally displays the ingredients it requires, but unlike normal recipes, potion-making thrives on experimentation.

When you add three valid ingredients, the Cauldron will bubble and release a random potion along with 4–5 candies as a reward. However, using the wrong combination can make the Cauldron explode, briefly knocking you back.

Stepping into the Cauldron also inflicts a short poison debuff, so approach carefully.

All Potion Ingredients and How to Get Them

Potions are brewed from both common and fairy-required ingredients, scattered across various regions of the forest.

Common Ingredients

  • Morsel – Dropped by bunnies, wolves, and bears.
  • Bunny Foot – Rare drop from bunnies.
  • Coal – Found inside structures or tree traps.
  • Mackerel – Fish from campfire ponds using any fishing rod.
  • Steak – Dropped by wolves, polar bears, or mammoths.
  • Berry – Gathered from berry bushes.

Fairy Ingredients

  • Dripleaf – Found near ponds in Level 3–6 campfires.
  • Moonflower – Glows at night; can be confused with pumpkins.
  • Stareweed – Shine a flashlight at it until its eyes widen.
  • Cavevine – Grows deep inside mineshafts and kid caves.
  • Mandrake Plant – Found near Trick or Treat houses; a glowing blue flower.

Each potion uses any three of these ingredients, but the result remains random — a core part of the update’s eerie charm.
