In 99 Nights in the Forest, survival is only half the story. As you push through the eerie nights, the flickering fire at your camp becomes more than just a source of warmth. It marks your growth. And for those who’ve endured the relentless beast attacks and cultist ambushes, the game offers a hidden prize: the Anvil.
This mysterious tool, long visible on the map yet inaccessible for much of your journey, is a turning point in the game. It unlocks some of the most game-changing tools in your arsenal. But like everything in 99 Nights, it won’t come easily.
Where to Find the Anvil in 99 Nights in the Forest?
You’ll spot the Anvil icon on your map from early on, marked with an exclamation point. But don’t be fooled, reaching it is a late-game endeavor, requiring serious preparation.

Before you even think of setting off, ensure you’ve done the following:
- Level your campfire to Level 5. This is non-negotiable—it unlocks access to the deeper parts of the forest.
- Equip a strong axe (at least “Good” tier) to break down barricades.
- Gear up for combat. Alpha wolves and cultists await, and they don’t go down without a fight.
Once you’re ready, follow the Anvil marker on your map. It will lead you to a cylindrical tower, partially hidden by dense trees and vines. This structure is the Anvil Tower, and it’s where the real challenge begins.
Entering the Anvil Tower
As you approach, Alpha Wolves will start circling the area. These beasts are aggressive and fast, so it’s best to clear them out or kite them far enough away to avoid unwanted interruptions.
Then comes the barricaded entrance—a heavy wooden block that must be chopped down. Even with a strong axe, it can take time, so watch your surroundings.
Inside the tower, three cultists patrol the ground floor. Unlike forest monsters, these enemies work together and can overwhelm you in numbers. The safest tactic is to bait one at a time and finish them off in isolation.
Repairing the Anvil: Finding the Pieces
Once the enemies are cleared, you’ll notice a faded outline of an anvil on the ground. It’s broken and missing three key components:
- Anvil Base – Located near the outline on the ground floor.
- Anvil Front – Found by climbing vines along the wall to the second floor.
- Anvil Back – Located on the rooftop, often tucked inside a chest.

Vine climbing is a little disorienting in the dark interiors, so make sure you bring a lantern or have decent visibility settings. The structure’s verticality can be confusing, especially with narrow ledges and tight corners.
Each part must be carried back to the ground floor manually—there’s no shortcut. Once all three pieces are placed in their rightful positions, the Anvil activates with a brief glow, signaling your success.
What the Anvil Does in 99 Nights in the Forest?
Fixing the Anvil grants you access to a special crafting menu, unique from the standard campfire or crafting stations.

There are three primary items you can craft here:
| Item | Function | Materials Required |
| Hammer | Let’s you relocate structures you’ve already placed | Wood, Metal |
| Bandages | Provides mid-combat healing for you or allies | Cloth, Herbs |
| Chainsaw | A late-game cutting tool and weapon, great for trees and enemies alike | Bear Pelts, Screws, Engine Parts |
The Chainsaw is the real prize here. Not only is it an efficient cutting tool, but it also functions as a brutal melee weapon. However, it’s costly—Bear Pelts, found near late-game zones such as the prisons of the last missing children, are required. And those bears? They don’t go down quietly.
Tips Before You Set Out To Repair the Anvil
If you’re planning to brave the tower, here are a few essentials:
- Bring food and healing—especially bandages or potions, if you’ve crafted them earlier.
- Clear your inventory so you have space for all three anvil parts.
- Upgrade your axe and gear beforehand—cultists and wolves can quickly turn fatal.
- Be ready to die once. If you fail, the Anvil parts remain in the tower, but enemies will respawn.
Also note: Once repaired, the Anvil only lets you craft one item per full fix, so choose carefully. If you want another, you may need to revisit the process in a future run.
A Hidden Reward
Reaching the Anvil isn’t just about items. Repairing it and crafting tools like the Chainsaw is also tied to achievement badges in the main lobby. If you’re a completionist or aiming to earn free diamonds, fixing the Anvil is a major step forward.
So light that fire, sharpen your axe, and go reclaim what’s hidden in the heart of the forest. The Anvil waits for no one.
