PlayStation Plus is bringing some serious variety to its October 2026 Game Catalog, with Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West, Mycopunk and four additional games joining the lineup for Extra and Premium subscribers. From dangerous criminal underworlds and post-apocalyptic adventures to chaotic cooperative shooting, survival horror and motorcycle racing, this month’s selection gives players plenty of reasons to check their subscription libraries.

The October update also delivers two classic and creative experiences for Premium members: Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition. On top of that, Sony Interactive Entertainment has introduced new Premium Game Trials and several PlayStation Plus HorrorFest promotions throughout the month. Sony announced the lineup on October 14, 2026, with most of the new games scheduled to arrive on October 20.

However, players in the United States and United Kingdom should keep an eye on the release calendar rather than expecting every game to appear at once. As of October 22, the October 20 additions have reached their announced release date, while Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition and Monster Energy Supercross 25 remain scheduled for October 27 in the US, UK and Japan. The earlier exception is The Midnight Walk, which arrived on October 14 in the US and UK and October 15 in Japan.

Sony also warns that Game Catalog and Premium/Deluxe offerings can vary by region, so checking the local PlayStation Store remains essential.

PlayStation Plus October 2026 Game Catalog: All Seven Featured Games

The October Game Catalog is available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. Its seven featured titles span action-adventure, role-playing, horror, racing and cooperative shooting, giving players a mix of established releases and a day-one addition.

Another Major Game Update
PlayStation Plus is giving subscribers another substantial month of new games and updates across different genres. Players interested in another major game-service update can check our Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 release date guide for its new features and release details.

1. Mafia: The Old Country

Platforms: PS5
Original release: August 2025
PlayStation Plus availability: October 20, 2026, according to Sony’s announced schedule

Ready to step into the dangerous origins of organized crime? Mafia: The Old Country takes players to early 20th-century Sicily, where Enzo Favara attempts to prove himself to the Family in a world controlled by criminal organizations, protection rackets and long-running vendettas.

Sony describes the game as a third-person action-adventure set during a particularly dangerous period in Sicilian history. Enzo must navigate this unforgiving environment while trying to establish his place within the criminal underworld.

The historical setting is a major part of the experience. Stiletto blades, sawed-off lupara shotguns, horseback travel and early motorcars all feature in the game’s depiction of the era.

Originally released in August 2025, the PS5 title is now joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. For subscribers who have been waiting to explore its crime-filled world, October offers another opportunity to jump in without purchasing the game separately, provided their subscription remains eligible.

2. Horizon Forbidden West

Platforms: PS5 and PS4
PlayStation Plus availability: October 20, 2026, according to Sony’s announced schedule

Aloy’s journey through a world reclaimed by nature and machines returns to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog with Horizon Forbidden West.

The action-adventure follows Aloy as she ventures into the Forbidden West, a post-apocalyptic region filled with unfamiliar locations, dangerous machines, different tribes and emerging threats. Along the way, players explore the world, form alliances and investigate mysteries connected to the ancient past while confronting a dangerous new enemy.

The adventure combines exploration with encounters against powerful machines and challenges that require players to understand the world around them.

Sony lists the October Game Catalog version for both PS5 and PS4. The game’s return gives eligible subscribers another chance to experience Aloy’s journey or revisit the Forbidden West without buying a separate copy.

3. Mycopunk

Platforms: PS5
Players: Single-player and online multiplayer for up to four players
PlayStation Plus availability: October 20, 2026

One of October’s most notable additions is Mycopunk, which joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on day one worldwide on October 20.

This mission-based looter shooter puts players in control of the New Atlas Hazard Crew, a team of robot exterminators working for the SAXON Corporation. Their assignment? Investigate a planet-wide fungal catastrophe and determine what is behind the disaster.

The premise sets up a combination of combat, missions and equipment customization. Players can modify their weapons and characters using an extensive upgrade system, including a grid-based system that allows different modifications to be combined.

The PlayStation Store confirms that the game supports single-player play and online multiplayer for up to four players. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required for online multiplayer.

For players who enjoy cooperative shooters and experimenting with different builds, Mycopunk brings a new option to the October lineup. Its worldwide day-one arrival also makes it a particularly notable addition for subscribers looking to try something new.

4. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2

Platforms: PS5 and PS4
Scheduled release: October 27, 2026, in the US, UK and Japan

The nightmare inside the Playtime Co. toy factory continues with Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2.

Following the events involving Huggy Wuggy and Poppy, players venture deeper into the factory, where puzzles and hostile toys stand between them and the answers they are seeking. The adventure continues the investigation into what happened inside the facility, pushing players further into its unsettling environment.

The game’s combination of puzzle-solving, exploration and horror makes it a different kind of experience from the action-heavy titles elsewhere in October’s catalog.

Sony has scheduled the game for October 27 in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan, with PS5 and PS4 versions included. As of October 22, it remains one of the major upcoming additions rather than part of the October 20 releases.

5. The Midnight Walk

Platforms: PS5 and PS VR2
PlayStation Plus availability: October 14 in the US and UK; October 15 in Japan

If you want something darker and more atmospheric, The Midnight Walk offers a fantasy adventure built around handcrafted clay environments and stop-motion-style animation.

Players take the role of the Burnt One and travel alongside Potboy, a lantern creature whose flame helps illuminate the surrounding world. Exploration, survival and puzzle-oriented encounters unfold across five stories centred on fire and darkness.

The distinctive visual presentation gives the game a different identity from the other October additions. Rather than relying solely on conventional action, it draws players into a carefully crafted world where light, darkness and the environment are central to the experience.

Sony confirms that The Midnight Walk is playable on PS5 and in virtual reality through PS VR2.

It is also the exception to October’s main release schedule. The game joined the catalog on October 14 in the US and UK, followed by Japan on October 15, making it available before the October 20 additions.

6. Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition

Platforms: PS5 and PS4
Scheduled release: October 27, 2026, in the US, UK and Japan

Role-playing fans have another upcoming addition to watch: Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition.

The main story of Tales of Arise takes place in a world where Rena has ruled over Dahna for 300 years, exploiting its resources and restricting its people. The narrative follows two characters from different worlds who become involved in an effort to change their circumstances and create a different future.

The October Game Catalog addition is specifically the Beyond the Dawn Edition, rather than an unspecified version of the game.

Sony has scheduled its arrival for October 27 in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan, with versions for both PS5 and PS4.

Subscribers interested in a story-driven role-playing adventure should therefore mark the date on their calendars if the game is available in their region.

7. Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game

Platforms: PS5
Scheduled release: October 27, 2026, in the US, UK and Japan

For players who would rather trade fantasy worlds for high-speed motorcycle racing, Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game rounds out the seven featured Game Catalog titles.

The game includes newly designed tracks based on real-world events, a roster of professional riders and a revamped career mode built around competitions, rivalries and strategic decisions.

Sony also highlights its use of Unreal Engine 5, realistic physics and dynamic track evolution. Additional features include tutorials, a game wiki and Neural Technology riding aids.

These systems are intended to give players different ways to approach the racing experience, whether they are learning the fundamentals or working through the career mode.

The PS5 title is scheduled to join the catalog on October 27 in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan. It is therefore part of the next wave of October additions, not the October 20 release group.

PlayStation Plus Premium October 2026: Two More Games

Premium subscribers receive two additional games as part of October’s update. Both bring a different style of gameplay to the service, from dinosaur survival to amusement park management.

Dino Crisis 2

Platforms: PS5 and PS4

Dinosaur survival returns with Dino Crisis 2, which joins the PlayStation Plus Premium lineup.

The story takes place one year after the events of the first game, while government research into Dr. Kirk’s Third Energy project continues. A temporal catastrophe causes the research hub of Edward City to disappear, pulling returning protagonist Regina and newcomer Dylan into another survival scenario.

Unlike the facility-focused environments of the original game, the sequel takes players through a broader selection of Cretaceous locations. These include jungles, caves, lakes and other environments populated by prehistoric threats.

Sony also highlights an expanded weapons selection and more than 10 dinosaur species.

For players interested in classic survival experiences, the addition brings another opportunity to revisit the franchise through PlayStation Plus Premium on PS5 and PS4.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition

Platforms: PS5 and PS4

Not every October addition is about surviving dangerous creatures or fighting hostile enemies. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition brings amusement park construction and management to the Premium catalog.

Players can build parks, manage finances, operate shops and services, oversee staff and complete a range of scenarios. Those who prefer a more open-ended approach can use sandbox mode to create parks without the usual financial restrictions.

The management systems give players control over different aspects of their parks, allowing them to focus on construction, operations and the overall experience they want to create.

Sony lists the Complete Edition for both PS5 and PS4 as part of the October Premium offering.

PlayStation Plus Premium Game Trials: October’s New Additions

Alongside the catalog games, Premium subscribers are receiving two new Game Trials.

Sony scheduled the following trials to become available on October 20:

  • Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
  • Mortal Shell II

Sony also lists several other recent trials, including Valheim, The Sinking City 2, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando and Directive 8020.

There is an important distinction here: Game Trials are separate from games being added to the Game Catalog for eligible subscribers. Players should not assume that a title offered as a trial has become a permanent Game Catalog addition.

PlayStation Plus HorrorFest October 2026: Deals, Cosmetics and Community Challenges

The October update extends beyond the main game lineup. Sony is also running several PlayStation Plus Exclusive HorrorFest promotions, giving subscribers opportunities to claim themed cosmetics, access expansion content and participate in a community challenge.

World War Z: Vibrant Halloween Skin Pack

The World War Z – Vibrant Halloween Skin Pack became available on October 20.

The pack includes five themed weapons and Halloween-related cosmetics, bringing seasonal content to the cooperative zombie shooter.

Back 4 Blood: Tunnels of Terror Expansion Offer

PlayStation Plus members can also access a limited-time promotion for Back 4 Blood.

The game is available through PlayStation Plus Extra, and Sony says members can download Tunnels of Terror Expansion 1 at no additional cost from October 21 through November 4.

During the same promotional period, members can also receive 95% off the second and third DLC packs, as well as the Annual Pass.

Players interested in the additional content should pay attention to the promotional window and applicable regional terms.

Dead by Daylight: Reach 10 Million Matches for an Exclusive Reward

The Dead by Daylight HorrorFest promotion gives the community a collective target to hit.

From October 20 through October 26, players are being challenged to complete a combined total of 10 million matches. If the community reaches that target, PlayStation Plus members will receive an exclusive in-game pack containing the Buccaneer Buds Charm.

The charm features Survivor Jeff Johansen and his rescue dog wearing matching pirate costumes.

Sony states that Dead by Daylight is currently available through the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogs.

The reward is conditional, not guaranteed. The community must reach the 10-million-match target for the stated reward to be unlocked. Players should not treat the charm as an already-available free claim.

Until Dawn Movie Promotion: Limited-Time Sony Pictures Core Offer

PlayStation Plus members will also receive a limited-time offer connected to the Until Dawn movie.

Sony says the discount will become available through the Sony Pictures Core app on October 28 and remain available until November 3, 2026.

The promotion is listed for the following markets:

  • United States and United Kingdom
  • Canada, Australia and New Zealand
  • Spain, Portugal and Mexico
  • Poland, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden
  • Italy, Japan and France

To access the offer, users need a PS4 or PS5 console and a Sony Pictures Core account. The promotion is subject to Sony Pictures Core’s terms, and Sony specifies that it is restricted to adults aged 18 and over.

The offer has a separate release window from the October 20 Game Catalog additions, so subscribers should not expect it to become available before October 28.

PlayStation Plus October 2026 Release Schedule: What’s Available and What’s Next?

Sony’s October 14 announcement sets out several release dates rather than one launch day for the entire lineup. Here’s how the schedule stands as of October 22, 2026.

The dates above follow Sony’s October 14 announcement. Regional availability can differ, and Sony specifically advises subscribers to check their local PlayStation Store.

As of October 22, the October 20 portion of the update has reached its announced release date. This includes the scheduled Game Catalog additions Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West and Mycopunk, along with the Premium titles Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition. The two Premium Game Trials and applicable October 20 HorrorFest content are also part of that release window.

The next major Game Catalog additions are scheduled for October 27: Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition and Monster Energy Supercross 25 in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan.

This means the October lineup should not be described as every announced title arriving on the same day. Sony’s announcement contains multiple exceptions to the October 20 date, and regional differences matter when reporting availability.

Another Game Release Story
The October PlayStation Plus lineup includes several upcoming releases and additions for subscribers to track. Players following other recent game-release developments can also see our Drunken Goddess Reflux demo cancellation report for details on another recent gaming announcement.

Final Verdict: Is the PlayStation Plus October 2026 Update Worth Checking Out?

October’s PlayStation Plus lineup covers a broad range of gaming tastes. Mafia: The Old Country delivers a historical crime adventure, Horizon Forbidden West offers a large-scale post-apocalyptic journey, and Mycopunk brings a day-one cooperative looter shooter to the service.

Horror fans have The Midnight Walk and the upcoming Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, while role-playing players can look forward to Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition. Racing fans also have Monster Energy Supercross 25 on the October 27 schedule.

Premium subscribers get additional variety through Dino Crisis 2, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition and two new Game Trials. Meanwhile, HorrorFest introduces seasonal cosmetics, expansion offers and a community challenge whose reward depends on reaching a specific milestone.

For players in the US and UK, the key date to watch next is October 27, when three more featured Game Catalog titles are scheduled to arrive. Until then, the October 20 releases and applicable promotions provide plenty to explore.

One final reminder: PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Premium/Deluxe offerings can differ by region. Availability, release dates and promotional terms reflect the official information available at the time of writing and may vary by country or change without further notice. Check the local PlayStation Store and the applicable offer terms before assuming that a game, trial, discount or reward is available.
