Pearl Abyss dropped Crimson Desert Patch 1.02.00 on April 4, 2026, and it is one of the most community-driven updates the game has received since launch. Private storage now scales all the way up to 1000 slots, a Headgear Visibility toggle gives you full cosmetic control over Kliff’s look, and a new Movement Controls option brings back the classic sprint system for players who preferred it. On top of all that, the patch addresses quest blockers, Abyss content fixes, combat improvements, audio changes, and platform-specific visual upgrades.

Content additions
This patch adds several new content items and fixes that affect core gameplay systems beyond the headline storage upgrade.
- Private storage capacity now expands from 240 slots up to a maximum of 1000 slots depending on Greymane Camp progress (see full breakdown below)
- Added a new Abyss Nexus in Pailune, expanding fast travel coverage across the map
- Improved the visibility of explosive barrels when using the Light Reflection skill or shining a lantern on them
- Changed the designs of certain gimmick monsters
- Added one new armor set and helmet for cats
- Improved Abyss Skybridge Gates so that restored Gates can be teleported to (this change was first applied in Patch 1.01.00)
- Fixed the bank investment refresh time remaining stuck in the Refreshing state (added in the April 4, 05:00 UTC revision)
- Fixed an issue where comrades would not return until the mission timer expired if a combat mission was completed before the time limit
- Fixed the Abyss puzzle state resetting when viewing node details via the map Details menu while inside an Abyss area
- Fixed the character becoming invisible if an Abyss Artifact was obtained before the Abyss completion cutscene played
- Fixed Healing Force Palm and Aerial Force Palm being reset when resetting all skills
Private storage now goes up to 1000 slots
The single biggest change in this patch is the overhaul to private storage. Storage capacity now scales with how far players have developed the Greymane Camp, following five expansion stages in total.
| Expansion stage | Slots added | Running total |
| Starting capacity | — | 240 slots |
| First camp expansion | +100 slots | 340 slots |
| Second camp expansion | +100 slots | 440 slots |
| Third camp expansion | +100 slots | 540 slots |
| Fourth camp expansion | +100 slots | 640 slots |
| Final camp expansion | +360 slots | 1000 slots |
This directly addresses one of the most requested features since launch, particularly for players in the later stages of the game who were struggling to manage camp resources. Reaching the full 1000-slot cap requires completing all five camp expansion stages.
Headgear Visibility option added
Players can now control when their helmet appears on screen. The new Headgear Visibility setting is available under Settings > Language & Gameplay, with four options to choose from.
| Option | Behaviour |
| Always Show | Helmet is visible at all times |
| Show in Combat | Helmet appears only during combat |
| Hide in Cutscenes | Helmet disappears during cutscenes only |
| Always Hide | Helmet is hidden at all times |
Pearl Abyss also confirmed that a feature to hide weapons shown on the character’s back is planned to be added in the near future, so players who want a clean, no-shield look will have that option in a later patch.
New Movement Controls option
Following the sprint overhaul introduced in Patch 1.01.00, a portion of the player base preferred the original feel. Pearl Abyss responded by adding a dedicated Movement Controls setting, accessible via Main Menu > Others > Settings > Input > Movement Controls. Detailed descriptions for each mode are also available directly in the in-game options menu.
| Mode | How sprinting works | Mount stamina consumption |
| Basic | Hold the sprint key to accelerate | Consumed at set intervals while holding sprint |
| Classic | Repeatedly press the sprint key to accelerate | Consumed each time the sprint key is pressed |
Both modes carry their own stamina implications on mounts. The choice otherwise comes down entirely to personal preference.
Fast travel improvement
The Abyss Nexus can now be used even while your character is moving slightly, which removes the frustration of the “can’t teleport at this time” message caused by minor input drift. However, this improvement does not yet apply while mounted or while using Flight. Pearl Abyss confirmed they plan to extend this further so that players can fast travel even while on certain mounts in a future update.
Controls and combat fixes
- Flight skill can now activate while holding the jump key in mid-air
- Jump inputs after attacks now register more reliably
- Fixed parry failing to activate during Focus with a two-handed sword equipped
- Fixed the camera snapping toward enemies when aiming with a tool
- Fixed the Double Boost horse ability not triggering correctly
- Fixed an exploit where repeatedly pressing sprint allowed horses to reach maximum speed regardless of their stats
- Fixed weapons being unable to draw inside Demeniss Castle under certain conditions
- Fixed some bosses teleporting too far away during combat
- Fixed certain interactions being unavailable while specific tools were equipped
- Added an Escape key guide when affected by elemental status effects
- Fixed the Focus state not cancelling when using Aerial Roll during flight
The Focus state and Aerial Roll fix removes the supersonic flight exploit that players had discovered earlier in the week. Pearl Abyss confirmed through this patch that it was a bug rather than an intended feature.
Quest fixes
| Quest or chapter | Issue fixed |
| Chapter 6 | Quest progression became unavailable after defeating a boss following a save and load under certain conditions |
| ‘A Rumor Fueled by Greed’ | Quest became unavailable if a related item was sold before the quest was started |
| Chapter 11 | The Inserted Key could disappear from the bag, blocking related quest progress |
NPC fixes
Fixed an issue where certain quest-related NPCs would not appear at the correct time, which could prevent players from progressing through affected quests.
