Giannis Antetokounmpo changes the Miami Heat equation
Few moves have altered the Eastern Conference conversation more dramatically than Miami’s acquisition of Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks.

Washington Wizards begin a completely different era
If Miami’s story is about adding an established superstar, Washington’s is about combining veteran experience with a potentially transformative young prospect.
The Wizards added Trae Young and Anthony Davis during the previous season before selecting AJ Dybantsa with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Washington then added veterans including Deandre Ayton and Khris Middleton during the offseason.

Indiana Pacers wait for Tyrese Haliburton’s return
Indiana enters the new season with a very different kind of headline: a star coming back.
Tyrese Haliburton missed the entire 2025-26 season after suffering a torn Achilles during Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. His absence left the Pacers without the All-Star guard who had helped guide the franchise to the NBA Finals before the injury.
