The wait is nearly over for BTS fans and collectors across the United States. McDonald’s is bringing another exclusive collaboration to Happy Meals, this time featuring the beloved BT21 universe created by BTS. With collectible toys, an interactive digital experience, and limited availability, the promotion is already generating excitement ahead of its nationwide debut.

Unlike a standard Happy Meal promotion, this release combines collectible appeal with one of the most recognizable character brands in K-pop culture. The BT21 lineup has built a massive global following since its debut, and previous McDonald’s collaborations with BTS have shown just how quickly exclusive merchandise can disappear from participating restaurants.

Here’s everything confirmed so far about the McDonald’s BT21 Happy Meal, including the launch date, toy lineup, BTS character connections, and why collectors may want to act quickly.

McDonald’s will launch the BT21 Happy Meal at participating U.S. locations on July 14, 2026, while supplies last. The promotion marks the third major McDonald’s-BTS collaboration, continuing a partnership that has consistently attracted strong demand from both BTS fans and Happy Meal collectors.

The BT21 Happy Meal will be available with standard Happy Meals. Depending on the restaurant, meals typically include a choice of a main item such as nuggets or a burger, fries, a drink, and one collectible toy. This comes after BTS partnered with Nex Playground.

Because participation may vary by location, customers are encouraged to check their local McDonald’s restaurant or the McDonald’s app before visiting.

What Is BT21? The BTS-Created Character Universe Explained

BT21 is a popular character line created by BTS members in 2017 in collaboration with LINE FRIENDS. Each character represents a BTS member—or their fandom—with unique personalities and backstories that exist within the “Planet BT” universe.

The story follows Prince TATA and VAN as they travel across the universe to spread love and make friends, creating a distinctive world that has become one of the biggest character franchises in global pop culture.

Each BT21 character is connected to BTS as follows:

ShookyBrown cookie-like characterSUGA
MangHorse-like dancerj-hope
ChimmyYellow dog-like characterJimin

BT21 has developed a large international fanbase through merchandise, fan meetups, and its continued influence across pop culture, with limited-edition collectibles frequently selling out.

Full McDonald’s BT21 Happy Meal Toy List and Digital Experience

The 2026 promotion includes 10 total collectibles, with one randomly included in each Happy Meal.

The collection follows a space and galaxy theme, featuring BT21 characters exploring the universe aboard their own spaceships. Each collectible is designed as a hard plastic figure equipped with a ring clip, allowing fans to attach it to backpacks, bags, keyrings, or other accessories.

The lineup includes:

  • Seven to eight individual character toys featuring Koya, RJ, Shooky, Mang, Chimmy, Tata, Cooky, and Van on their own spaceship or stand designs.
  • One group collectible featuring all characters together aboard a shared spaceship.
  • One special poster accompanied by stickers.

In addition to the physical collectibles, every Happy Meal box includes a QR code that unlocks an interactive digital experience. Fans can use it to explore BT21’s musical universe through activities such as creating tracks or bringing the characters to life.

Why This BT21 Happy Meal Could Become One of McDonald’s Biggest Collectibles

The BT21 Happy Meal arrives following the 2025 TinyTAN Happy Meals, which featured chibi-style BTS member figures in both Throwback and Encore editions. Before that, McDonald’s introduced the globally successful 2021 BTS Meal, which included McNuggets, fries, a Coke, and exclusive dipping sauces.

This latest promotion continues that successful collaboration while arriving during renewed BTS activity, including tours and new music following the members’ military service.

Collectors are expected to show strong interest in the BT21 lineup, particularly because the toys are available only while supplies last and are randomly distributed with each Happy Meal. As with previous BT21 merchandise releases, some collectibles may become difficult to find once restaurants begin selling through their inventory.
