Pokémon Pokopia tasks you with building the perfect environment for your favourite Pokémon, and Psyduck is one of those that will not simply wander in on its own. To attract this iconic Water-type, you need to build a very specific habitat setup. The good news is that once you know what to gather and where to go, the whole process is straightforward. Here is everything you need to know about getting Psyduck in Pokémon Pokopia.

What Habitat Does Psyduck Need?
Psyduck requires the Hot-Spring Shower habitat in Pokémon Pokopia. Building this habitat also gives you a chance to attract Golduck, Psyduck’s evolved form, making it a worthwhile double-purpose setup.

Hot-Spring Shower Habitat Requirements:
| Item | Quantity |
| Shower | 1 |
| Seat (any) | 1 |
| Hot-Spring Water | 2 squares |
Where to Get Hot-Spring Water
Hot-Spring Water is the trickiest part of this setup, depending on where in the game you are.
The Easy Route: Rocky Ridges
The simplest way to build the Hot-Spring Shower habitat is to head to the Rocky Ridges area. Hot-Spring Water appears naturally inside the caves there, so all you need to do is add a Shower and a Seat to the nearby area and the habitat will be ready to go.
The Bleak Beach Route: Roserade Tea Method
If you want to attract Psyduck to Bleak Beach or any location that does not have natural Hot-Spring Water, you need to create it yourself using Roserade Tea.
Roserade Tea comes from powered Vending Machines. Interact with a Vending Machine once per day to receive a random item, and Roserade Tea is one of the possible drops. Because the drop is random, you may need to return to the Vending Machine on multiple days before you receive it.
Once you have Roserade Tea in your inventory, return to the area where you want to place the habitat. Before you can use the tea, you must first learn the ability to absorb and carry liquid from Wooper. To trigger Wooper’s quest, speak to Piplup, who will ask you to create a Waterfall. After completing that, interact with Wooper or build its habitat to unlock the liquid-carrying skill.
With that skill unlocked, consume the Roserade Tea and your Ditto will fill with hot-spring liquid. You can then place Hot-Spring Water in the desired area, spreading it to nearby tiles. Once two squares of Hot-Spring Water are in place alongside the Shower and Seat, the habitat becomes active.
How to Build the Hot-Spring Shower Habitat Step by Step

Step 1: Decide Your Location
If you are in Rocky Ridges, Hot-Spring Water already exists inside the caves so you can skip the Roserade Tea step entirely. If you are in Bleak Beach or another area, you will need to create Hot-Spring Water first using the method above.
Step 2: Craft the Shower
Open your crafting menu and build a Shower using 2 Iron Ore. Iron Ore can be gathered while exploring. If it helps with placement, build a short wall behind the shower so the object positions correctly in your habitat layout.
Step 3: Place a Seat
Place any type of Seat near the Shower. The game does not require a specific chair type, so a basic log seat or simple chair works just as well as anything else. The Seat needs to be close enough to the Shower to create a recognisable relaxation area.
Step 4: Add Two Squares of Hot-Spring Water
Place two squares of Hot-Spring Water adjacent to or around the Shower and Seat setup. In Rocky Ridges, you can position your habitat directly in an area where the water already exists. In other areas, use the Roserade Tea method to create it.

Step 5: Wait for Psyduck to Spawn
Once the habitat is active, Psyduck will begin appearing in the area. However, it does not always spawn immediately. Psyduck follows the standard in-game spawn cycle, which means it may not show up until the next in-game day. If it does not appear straight away, wait and check back after the next day cycle.
Tips to Speed Up the Spawn
Use Honey
Apply Honey directly to the completed Hot-Spring Shower habitat for an instant Psyduck spawn. You do not need to wait through the day cycle at all. Honey can come from Combee rewards, random flower drops, or farming from a befriended Combee.
Use the Pokédex Direction Trick
If Psyduck has spawned but wandered away from the habitat, open your Pokédex, hover over Psyduck, and press the plus button on the right Joy-Con. After confirming, speak to any nearby befriended Pokémon and they will point in the exact direction of Psyduck, making it easy to track down.
Buy Habitat Hints
Visit any restored Pokémon Center PC terminal and purchase Habitat Hints from the shop using in-game coins. This instantly confirms the exact item requirements for the Hot-Spring Shower and every other habitat in the game.
Raise the Environment Level
Higher Environment Levels in the surrounding area naturally speed up Pokémon spawn rates. Investing in your overall island development will benefit Psyduck’s spawn timing alongside everything else.
What Does Psyduck Do in Pokémon Pokopia?
Once Psyduck moves into your world, it brings the Search specialty. To use it, hold the Dowsing Machine and press the A button while walking alongside Psyduck. It will begin hunting for buried items in the area, making it a genuinely useful companion for exploration and resource gathering beyond just completing your Pokédex.
Psyduck’s ideal habitat condition is Humid, so keeping the environment around the Hot-Spring Shower area humid will improve Psyduck’s comfort level and performance.
