Techland celebrates one million preorders with an early release for its zombie survival game.
Techland has confirmed that Dying Light: The Beast will launch earlier than expected, moving its release date forward from September 19 to September 18, 2025. The decision comes as the studio announced the game has surpassed one million preorders, a milestone that prompted the developer to reward fans with 24 hours of early access.

What to Expect in The Beast?
Originally planned as a Dying Light 2: Stay Human DLC, The Beast evolved into a standalone survival horror adventure. The game brings back Kyle Crane, the protagonist from the original Dying Light, who returns after a decade of captivity and genetic experimentation by a villain known as the Baron.
Players can expect a 20-hour core campaign with up to 60 hours of content for completionists. The game reintroduces Dying Light’s signature parkour mechanics, while also expanding gameplay with vehicles, brutal melee combat, and Crane’s new “beastly” powers inspired by the series’ terrifying Volatiles.
To mark the milestone, Techland confirmed that all players who preorder the game will receive an exclusive in-game reward, with details to be announced during launch week.
Dying Light: The Beast launches worldwide on September 18, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Versions for last-gen consoles are expected later in 2025.
